Diving

There are a large number of training agencies out there for you to choose from, here are just a few of them that I’ve had the pleasure to work with and indeed I've also seen the teaching materials of nearly all of them. In no particular order: PADI, BSAC, IANTD, SSAC, SSI, NAUI, CMAS, ITDA, NASE, ESA, DAN, PDIC, YMCA, ANDI, PSA, TDI, NSS-CDS, NACD, CDG, CEDIP, DIWA, AAUS, ACUC, DRI, GUE, HAS, IAHD, IDD, IDEA, LACUIA, NAPSD, SDI, SSA. We, as a progressive training and exploration company, took a while deciding (at this stage in our business) to go with PADI as the leading largest training agency in the world, BSAC for its huge membership and a leading club based training agency in the world and IANTD as the father of technical diver training and exploration in the world.

Whilst we are proud to be associated with these three leading training agencies, it is worth mentioning some very wise thoughts on your choice and route to diving and diver training. What is key is the instructional team and instructor, no matter how good the training materials are – choose wisely who teaches you. You need to be reassured that the instructional team actually do a lot of diving outside of teaching and of the sort that you are really interested in doing. Decide how often you want to dive and be realistic about how you keep your skills fresh. This is a sport that requires a degree of personal fitness and good health – if you are in any doubt talk to your GP or better still seek help from a medical referee (sport or HSE).

Next is that good old phrase 'location location location…' we as a school make judicious use of inland sites – mainly for backup to poor weather. We do all of our open water training in real COASTAL WATERS, on REAL WRECK SITES, off REAL SHORES and BOATS. I’m not knocking the inland sites – they have a real important role to play in keeping you diving, keeping skills fresh, and honing and developing skills. I particularly like the following sites due to their in water features, the way they are run and their safety record; Capernwray (22m), Gildenburgh (22m), Vobster (40m), and Chepstow NDAC (80m).

PADI has launched a new eLearning initiative so you can do all the self study modules in a relaxed environment, at your own pace and on-line. If you wish to enrol with us to do that then please go here at PADI and start your journey into this fantastic sport.

We have a great range of equipment that you can Hire. We take a responsible view, if you bring your kit to a course, then please make sure you can prove it is either new or if over a year old that you can show that it has been serviced according to the manufacturers' recommendations by a reputable service centre. We will ensure any items that are not up to scratch will be replaced with our Hire kit. We do not charge for hiring any items of kit on any of our Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Ocean Diver, Sports Diver programmes. All other courses and specialities may be charged for kit hire unless otherwise agreed. See our Special Offers and Discounts Page too...

Our aim is to guide you through the booking, independent learning, theory teaching/review, pool work (as needed) and open water work with the very best possible instruction and logistics. We give you guides and advice at each stage. We try our best to make this enjoyable and fun – after all none of us want a boot camp or that lost feeling of what am I supposed to be doing or where should I be going!!!
